Unlike the 301 redirect, which is permanent, the 302 redirect is only a temporary solution. At least, that is how search engines might interpret it. Speaking of search engines, they will have to decide whether to keep the old page forever or list the new one in the search results. What this means is that in most cases, the search engines might decide to continue indexing the old URL and mark the new one as a duplicate. However, in other cases, the opposite might happen. Another difference between 301 and 302 redirect is that the latter one does not carry any SEO value to the new URL.
